Tata Motors delivers Nexon EV to Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. This is a part of the company’s tender agreement with EESL. Maharashtra Government is working hard to revolutionize the electric segment in the state. And this partnership further cements their position for the same. Tata Nexon has been the top-selling electric car in the country. Currently, it has a market share of close to 70 per cent. The customers are also quite excited about owning an electric vehicle, as they stand out from the crowd and have many benefits compared to their ICE counterparts.

Demand For Electric Cars To Grow Much Stronger

Currently, the shift towards electric vehicles is quite evident in the two-wheeler segment. With the recent multiple launches in the scooter segment, customers now have a wide range of options to choose from. But, the story for the electric four-wheeler is not comparable to the two-wheelers segment.

There are no electric car options for a mainstream average Indian buyer with a budget of 10 lakhs. The current cheapest offering, Tata Nexon, starts at INR 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to INR 16.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Although Tata Motors is all set to launch the Tigor EV in a few days time, we understand this will also have a price tag of around INR 10 lakh.

Tata Motors To Revolutize The Four-Wheeler EV Segment

The company has been quite clear with its aim and target. Tata Motors wants to bring the change and make the shift to EV as soon as possible. In doing so, the brand will also aim to become the market leader in this segment. With the Nexon EV and Tigor EV in the assembly line, Tata Motors will soon introduce more models to its stable. One possible option is the Atlroz EV, which could make its way after the Tigor EV hits the showrooms.
