We could very well see the SUVs in flesh by October 2023. Both facelifts will benefit from a new exterior design, interior elements, and more tech.
In fact, there are talks suggesting that we could also get an upgraded powertrain. The new engine in talks is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit that could join the powertrain line-up. We are aware that Tata Motors has already begun road testing the 2023 Harrier and Safari facelifts. We say this because, recently, we spotted a Safari facelift test mule on the outskirts of Pune.
Exterior Design Highlights
Both facelifts will now get a completely new front fascia, carrying forward the familiar split headlamp design. The reworked grille might also get a fresh design with vertical slats. We also expect to see a full LED lightbar above the grille, thus, connecting the headlamps with each other.
Both SUVs might also get reworked tail lamps connected with an LED light bar, a mildly altered tailgate design and new-look alloy wheels, among other design tweaks.
What’s New For The Interiors?
On the inside we know, both the Harrier and Safari SUVs recently received a new 10.25-inch screen in the higher-spec trims and a few more features like ADAS. In the upcoming update, we believe the Harrier and Safari facelifts will additionally get design tweaks to the dashboard, and new textures and shades for the interior.
New Engine In The Lineup?
As mentioned, the refreshed Harrier and Safari facelifts will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. This motor produces 170 HP and 350Nm of torque, mated to either 6-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. But, Tata Motors did showcase to us the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine at Auto Expo 2023. This engine makes 170 HP and 280Nm of torque. And chances are high that we could see this motor do its duty in the updated Harrier and Safari SUVs.
