2023 KTM 390 Duke spotted again

Written by Kanad Kalasur

The upcoming KTM 390 Duke has once again been spotted. But this time around, the bike was spotted in India, where it is set for production. The spy images reveal some more details of the bike.

2023 KTM 390 Duke design and features

While the bike is under camouflage, we can still make out some details. The 2023 version of the bike comes with an all-new body work. While most of the panels have been redesigned, the most visible change is in the tank area. The new tank extensions are bigger and sharper than before.

The headlight design also appears to be new along with new-design seats and mirrors. Furthermore, KTM has improved the touch points of the bike as well.

The switchgear is also revised with a new Red coloured switch on the left side. This could be a hazard light button. The brake levers are of the non-adjustable kind, which seems odd as the current generation bike gets adjustable ones. Do note that one of the levers is black and one is finished in a brushed metal finish. It could also mean that these are for testing purposes and the bike would come with a different set of levers at launch.

Other features like TFT display with Bluetooth, dual-channel ABS and the bi-directional quick-shifter will likely be carried over. Expect traction control and IMU to be made available as well.

2023 KTM 390 Duke chassis

The bike now gets more body panels which do a good job of hiding the chassis of the 2023 KTM 390 Duke. However, the rear swing arm appears to be new, with a slightly different design and shape.

The bike will also likely borrow the new design alloys and brakes from the RC 390. The front brake loses the carrier and the disc is now positioned on the right side from the earlier left-sided orientation.

2023 KTM 390 Duke powertrain

It remains to be seen if KTM will bump up the engine capacity to 399cc. While the spy images don’t reveal this information, the engine appears to be different than the one doing duty on the KTM 390. First up, the test bike gets a larger radiator with two fans instead of the single one of the current bike.

Hence the dual fan setup could mean a requirement of higher cooling, which could in turn imply a higher power output. Whether KTM has just given the same engine with a higher state of tune or a new larger displacement engine remains to be seen.

2023 KTM 390 Duke price and launch

While the bike has been spotted multiple times, and the current images reveal a much more production-ready bike than before, it is too early to speculate on the price. That said, expect an upward revision in prices compared to the outgoing bike. KTM could launch the bike in the latter part of this current year.
