Hyundai has officially launched the 2023 Aura facelift sedan. After its introduction in January 2020, this is the first mid-life update of the Aura. As a part of this, the sedan gets a revised front fascia along with new tech and safety features. Hyundai has opened bookings for the Aura for a token amount of INR 11,000. In fact, Hyundai will also showcase the same at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. Along with Aura, Hyundai has also revealed a facelift for the Grand i10 Nios hatchback.

2023 Hyundai Aura Design Highlights

The biggest update to the Aura facelift is its updated front-end design. The compact sedan now gets a more upright nose and a two-part grille. Meanwhile, the lower section spans almost the entire height and width of the bumper. This gives the sedan a much wider look than it actually is. On the back we see, there’s also a new inverted L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps. These are housed at the edges of the bumper. Interestingly the fog lamps are missing on the facelifted model.

Apart from this, there are no changes in the profile of the sedan. In fact, even the alloy wheel design remains the same. There are also no major changes at the rear as well. The tail lamps, the chrome trim connecting them and in fact even the rear bumper remains the same.  One new feature addition is a boot lid spoiler that was previously offered as an accessory. But now offered as standard in all except the base trim. Aura also gets a new Starry Night colour shade option.

2023 Hyundai Aura Key Features And Equipment

On the inside, the cabin layout remains identical to the outgoing model. But now, the sedan features new upholstery for the seats, new lighting for the footwell area, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. While the Aura facelift retains the 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, wireless charger, and automatic climate control. There are some additional tech features, including new Type-C charging ports, and a new 3.5-inch digital display in the instrument cluster.

As part of the update Aura now gets four airbags, ABS and EBD as standard. While six airbags, ESC and hill assist control are optional safety features for the 2023 Aura. It also benefits from central locking and keyless entry, automatic headlamps, ISOFIX anchorages and a day/night rearview mirror as options.

2023 Hyundai Aura Mechanicals

The facelifted Aura will continue with the same engine options. These are 1.2-litre petrol engines that make 83 HP and 113.8 Nm. There are two gearbox options, namely, a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Additionally, one can also get it in a factory-fitted CNG version with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. This makes 69 HP and 95.2 Nm of torque that comes coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
