2023 Honda Shine 100cc Review

Honda has brought in the all-new Shine 100 in India. The motorcycle will retail at INR 64,900 (ex-showroom, Mumbai, introductory price). The new Shine 100 comes with OBD-2 compliance and is capable of running on E20 fuel. This is petrol with a 20 per cent ethanol blend. With the given price tag, this is the most affordable Honda motorcycle in India.

Honda Shine 100 Mechanical Highlights

The Shine 100 gets an all-new air-cooled, 99.7cc, single-cylinder engine. This motor makes 7.6 HP and 8.05Nm. Supporting this new engine is an all-new diamond frame, which has been developed especially for the Shine 100. With a short 1,245mm wheelbase, an accessible 786mm seat height and 168mm of ground clearance, the Shine 100 is the perfect choice for first-time buyers.

As mentioned, the Shine 100 comes with both OBD-2 as well as E20 fuel-compliant. Moreover, Honda also claims to optimise the motorcycle to deliver “higher fuel efficiency”. It also benefits from a fuel pump on the outside of the fuel tank. This will make repair work easy. There’s also an auto-choke function, which ensures that the motorcycle starts irrespective of the ambient temperature. With the current price tag, the Honda Shine 100 is the most affordable motorcycle in the country with a self-start.

Features And Colour Options

In terms of features, the Shine 100 gets a halogen headlight, side-stand inhibitor and combined braking system. Customers can have the motorcycle in five colour options. These are, namely, black base with red, green, blue, gold and grey stripes.

The Honda Shine 100 will get some tough stiff competition in its category, The other options include, Hero HF 100, Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Splendor+, Hero Splendor+ XTEC and Bajaj Platina.
