2023 MG Comet EV Review

MG Motor India recently announced the prices of its new EV, Comet. The new car gets a price tag that starts at INR 7.98 lakh. With this, it becomes the second electric car from MG Motor India. Another key highlight is that it has become the most affordable electric car in the Indian market. Customers can get the new MG Comet EV in variants. But as it stands, MG Motor India is yet to reveal the full pricing of the EV. As mentioned, the introductory price starts at INR 7.98 lakh. MG further confirmed that the bookings will start from 15th May 2023.

MG Comet EV Is Surely A Head Tuner

With its quirky and unique design, the MG Comet EV is a definite eye candy. It pretty much stands out from the crowd. It gets a quadricycle-inspired body design that uses upscale features. This includes split headlights, LED elements spanning across the width of the vehicle, stylish alloy wheels, a tall C-Pillar and a dual-tone paint job. The small EV is a two-door vehicle carrying up to four passengers. In terms of physical presence, the MG Comet measures 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width, and 1,631mm in height and gets a 2,010 mm wheelbase.

Come To Inside And There Are A lot More Surprises

On the inside of the Comet, we see a relatively spacious cabin, with twin 10.25-inch screens at the forefront. The 2-spoke steering wheel adds to the premium touch. We also find that some remind us of the Apple iPod. Key features on offer include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start, keyless entry, a digital key, power windows, a grey interior theme, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Comet is also the smallest four-wheeled vehicle on sale in India.

Charging And Range Details

MG Comet EV range The MG Comet EV gets a 17.3 kWh battery pack. It takes close to 7 hours to charge from 0 to 100 per cent through a regular home socket. MG is providing a 3.3 kW charger with the car. As of now, there is no fast charging system available with the MG Comet EV. It has a certified range of 230 km according to the official figures. The electric motor makes a maximum power of 42 PS and a peak torque of 110 Nm. The new MG Comet EV also benefits from a slew of connected features including live support and voice recognition. MG Motors also offers multiple customisation options that customers can choose from at the dealerships.
