Nissan has unveiled the 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition in Japan. The special edition model will make its market debut in October and come with a Nismo-exclusive Stealth Gray body colour. The built-to-order GT-R Nismo also features exclusive carbon fibre parts and a hand-built engine.
Nissan GT-R Nismo Engine Specifications
Powering the 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo is a VR38DETT series, 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. This engine uses the same GT3 racecar turbocharger and produces 600 PS of power. The new hand-built and made-to-order Nismo engine features high-precision and weight-balanced parts. This includes new piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, flywheel, crank pulley and valve springs. The parts are all precision made to tighter tolerances and deliver snappier throttle response and quicker turbo spooling. Every engine is hand-crafted by its own Takumi technician and comes with a Takumi certification plate on the engine with an exclusive colour.
Special Edition Performance Parts
The 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo features an exclusive clear-coated carbon fibre hood. This is 100 grams lighter than the already light Svelte hood on the standard GT-R. The GT-R Nismo also comes with edition-exclusive 20-inch Rays aluminium wheels that feature a red accent. The new Nissan logo on the trunk and hub caps. The GT-R Nismo also comes with 410 mm Brembo callipers and carbon ceramic rotors in the front and 390 mm Brembo callipers and carbon-ceramic rotors at the rear.
