2022 MG Hector facelift teased again, coming soon

MG Motor India has released another teaser for the 2022 Hector facelift. The Next-Gen Hector inches closer to its launch, which MG says will take place by the end of the year. Though changes to the 2021 model were aesthetic and did not bring many upgrades, the 2022 Hector facelift will get a host of upgrades.

The brand also mentioned that the Next-Gen Hector will be sold alongside the existing Hector. The MG Hector was India’s first Internet SUV and continues to enjoy strong preference among customers. MG updated the SUV in 2021 and also introduced the 7-seater Hector Plus.

2022 MG Hector Facelift Teaser – What Do We See?

The new teaser from the British brand gives us a look at the front end of the 2022 Hector. The teaser highlights the SUV’s strong presence, which will get a new Argyle-inspired diamond-mesh grille. MG says this gives the SUV a bold, commanding and powerful stance. Furthermore, MG also stated that the bold design of the grille was meticulously crafted to connect with Hector’s signature LED DRLs. Thus, further amplifying its commanding presence. 

2022 MG Hector Facelift – What Do We Know?

According to MG, the new exterior design of the 2022 Hector will be in line with its interior. From a previous teaser, we know the 2022 Hector facelift will get a 14-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment screen. MG claims this will be the largest portrait infotainment screen in India. The brand says the large screen will offer a cinematic and immersive experience. 

In addition to this, top-end variants will also get ADAS features. MG already has the Gloster, which gets Level 1 Autonomous technology, and the Astor, which gets Level 2 Autonomous Technology. Currently, there is no confirmation if the 2022 Hector will get Level 1 or Level 2 Autonomous Technology. 

Sources suggest that all the upgrades will result in a significant price hike. The 2022 Hector’s ‘Sharp’ variant could get a price hike of around INR 2 lakh. At the same time, the ‘Sharp’ variant, which will get the ADAS features, could get a price hike of about INR 2.5 lakh.
