Mahindra is currently testing the Scorpio SUV in the Indian market. The brand has been extensively testing the new SUV which is internally codenamed Z101. Spyshots of the new Scorpio show a larger SUV full of modern equipment. The SUV will also come with the latest design language and features. Reports of the new Scorpio have emerged on the internet which give us a glimpse of what could be installed for the future.
2022 Mahindra Scorpio SUV – Feature Details
The Mahindra Scorpio SUV comes will be a larger SUV than its predecessor. This will allow the brand to not only offer more interior space but also offer more features on the new SUV. The popular Scorpio will come with features already seen on the XUV700. However, the brand will not offer the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), Panoramic Sunroof, 10-speaker music system etc. This will be done so that the XUV700 is clearly identified as the superior SUV.
The new Scorpio will come with features such as 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with connected car features and digital instruments cluster from the XUV700 MX variant. The car will also get dual-zone climate control and all-LED headlights & rear lights. The car is also likely to come with Sequential turn indicators and a sunroof. Mahindra is also likely to offer push-button start, 360-degree bird’s eye camera view, and Terrain Response Modes.
2022 Mahindra Scorpio SUV – Powertrain Options
Powering the new Mahindra Scorpio is likely to be a new turbo-diesel option. The engine will come with two states of tune – a higher 160/170 Bhp & a lower 130 Bhp. The brand is also likely to offer a petrol powertrain borrowed from the Mahindra Thar and XUV700. The Scorpio is likely to come with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
2022 Mahindra Scorpio SUV – Launch Timeline
According to reports, the Mahindra Scorpio will make its debut on 15th August 2022. The brand will commence bookings with the price reveal on 2nd October 2022. However, the Scorpio has its 20th anniversary in July and the brand may introduce the Scorpio at the landmark event.
