Hyundai is planning to launch the facelift model of the new Creta. Now pictures of a test mule of the Hyundai Creta facelift have appeared on the internet. The current-generation Creta was introduced in the Chinese market back in 2019. In India, Hyundai unveiled the popular SUV in its current generation at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. The brand is likely to introduce a mid-cycle update of the Creta in the first half of 2022.
Hyundai Creta – Design & Styling
The Hyundai Creta facelift will come with a significant upgrade which includes an entirely new front fascia. According to the spy shots, the front fascia will draw inspiration from the 2021 Hyundai Tucson SUV and Santacruz pickup truck. Both Tucson and Santacruz follow the ‘Parametric Dynamics’ exterior design theme. This theme features geometrical surfaces on the front and ‘Parametric Grille’ and ‘Parametric Hidden Lights’.
The Parametric Hidden Lights features LED daytime running lights that only appear when lit. The front fascia also includes a bumper-mounted headlamp cluster. The headlamps cluster features stacked dual LEDs flanking a wide grille and air dam. The brand is also likely to make subtle changes to the car’s rear to match the front of the SUV.
However, the body shell of the Creta is likely to be retained from the current-generation model. Currently, details on the interiors are scarce. But we speculate that the changes are likely to be limited to material enhancements and trim options. The brand is also likely to make some changes in the infotainment system in terms of features.
Hyundai Creta Engine Changes
Hyundai is also likely to offer some changes to the powertrain. The brand already retails the Hyundai Creta with many engines and gearbox options in both the Indian and international markets. But the facelift is likely to come with mild-hybrid technology on the engine, making them more efficient and ready for future emission restrictions.
Expect the facelift model to first debut in China next year, followed by its debut in the Indian market.
