Back in April 2019, we reported that Yamaha is planning to launch a new facelift version of the MT25 and MT03. Now the brand has revealed both the models in a new facelift avatar. Yamaha has launched the 2021 MT25 and MT03 in Japan at the price of JPY 621,500 and JPY 654,500. The prices are the manufacturer’s suggested retail price including a 10% consumption tax.

Yamaha MT25 and MT03 Engine Specifications

Both the Yamaha MT25 and MT03 features a parallel twin-cylinder engine. The engine on the MT25 is a 249cc unit while the MT03 comes with 320cc of displacement. The liquid-cooled engine also features a 4-valve DOHC distribution system and a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox. While the primary and secondary reduction ratio is the same the gear ratios on both motorcycles are different. The engine on the Yamaha MT25 produces 35 PS of power and 23 Nm of torque. The Yamaha MT03 powertrain produces 42 PS of power and 29 Nm of torque. The motorcycle also features an upside-down telescopic fork suspension instead of the conventional unit.

Design & Styling

In its new avatar, both the Yamaha MT25 and the MT30 features the brand’s latest design language. The design language appears to borrow inspiration from the Yamaha MT15. The headlamp cluster features a single projector lamp with eye-like LED DRLs. The motorcycles also come with a new fuel tank cowling but similar tail, a nice and sharp unit. The motorcycle also gets sharp styling on the LED taillamps and slim front and rear indicator lamps. The motorcycle also gets a full LCD meter with the tachometer in a fine bar graph, digital speedometer, average fuel consumption, a water temperature gauge, gear position indicator etc.

The 2021 Yamaha MT25 and MT30 also come in three new colour styles. The Yamaha MT25 and MT03 feature Pastel Dark Grey colour which features Cyan and Vermilion graphics and Vermilion alloy wheels. The second option is a Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, a combination of Blue and matte Grey colour from Yamaha’s performance series. Matte Dark Grey Metallic, which is a dark themed paint that brings out the strong MT personality of the motorcycle.
