Written by Nizam Shaikh

Triumph has unveiled the 2021 new Speed Twin in the international market. The iconic British brand has not revealed the price of the motorcycle yet. But the brand has released all the specifications of the new bike. According to Triumph, the 2021 Speed Twin comes with premium style, enhanced technology, higher performance and better handling.

The motorcycle made its debut back in 2018, setting new benchmarks in the modern classic segment. The Speed Twin has set new standards for engine performance, handling, finish, and technology. And now, for 2021, Triumph is bringing evolution in every dimension of the Speed Twin.

2021 Triumph Speed Twin Engine Specifications

Powering the 2021 Speed Twin is a characterful Bonneville Twin engine. The 1200cc High Power engine is fully Euro 5 compliant but delivers 100PS of power and 112 Nm of torque. This power performance figure is 3 PS more than the predecessor. The torque also arrives at 500 rpm earlier compared to the predecessor.

The brand has worked on the crankshaft and alternator, making it lighter, resulting in a 17% reduction in inertia. This enables the engine to spin faster and harder for a longer duration. The redline on the motorcycle is also 500 rpm higher than before. The bike also comes with new high compression pistons, revised ports and a new cam profile that improve the motorcycle’s performance.

The Bonneville engine also features a sonorous exhaust with a “straight-run” design. The exhaust features a contemporary brushed stainless steel megaphone design and comes with twin upswept sports silencers. The new model also comes with a 10,000 miles / 16,000 kilometres first major service interval.

Design & Styling

The Triumph Speed Triple features a stripped-back custom style. The bike gets a signature 14.5L tank with tank recesses, a straight bench seat and sculpted side panels. The motorcycle also features straight handlebars and bar-end mirrors. The 2021 Speed Twin also comes with a brushed aluminium front, rear mudguards with new mounts, aluminium side panel embellishment, new heel guards, anodised headlamp mounts, classic Monza fuel cap, clear anodised aluminium swingarm and painted headlamp dome.

Mechanical Parts

The Speed Twin comes with 43mm upside-down Marzocchi front forks, twin rear suspension units. Both suspension units offer 120mm of wheel travel. Braking duties are performed by twin 320mm Brembo discs on the front and 220 single disc with Nissin calliper on the rear. The motorcycle also gets ABS fitted as standard. The Speed Twin rides on 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels with a 12-spoke design. The Speed Twin comes with an accessible 809mm seat height.
