Skoda has launched the much-awaited Kushaq SUV in the Indian market starting at INR 10,49,999 ex-showroom. The Kushaq SUV has been tailored to the likes of Indian customers and comes with a compelling design and abundant interior space. Even the name of the SUV is derived from the ancient Indian language Sanskrit. The literal translation of Kushaq is King or Emperor, and the SUV stance on the road coincides with its name.
2021 Skoda Kushaq – Variants, Price & Colour
The Skoda Kushaq Active is the entry-level model and comes with a price tag starting at INR 10.50 lakh ex-showroom. The mid-level variant is known as Ambition. The variant comes with a starting price tag of INR 12.80 lakh ex-showroom. The top-of-the-line Kushaq trim is the Style trim with a starting price tag of INR 14.60 lakh ex-showroom. The Skoda Kushaq is available in five colour options – Candy White, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel, Honey Orange and Tornado Red.

2021 Skoda Kushaq – Engine Specifications & Performance
Powering the Skoda Kushaq are two Volkswagen Group TSI engine known for both power and efficiency. The Kushaq comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine makes 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. This allows the engine to propel the SUV to a maximum speed of 186 kmph. The other option is the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine comes with 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The engine can accelerate the SUV from 0-100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 190 kmph.
The 1.0-litre engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5-litre engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Underpinning the Skoda Kushaq is the MQB-A0-IN platform and measures 4,225 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,612 mm in height. The SUV features a 2,651mm long wheelbase and 155mm of ground clearance. The size of the Kushaq allows ample space for passengers as well as 385-litres of luggage space.

The Skoda Kushaq comes with a two-part design on the clear-cut headlights and a crystalline design on the taillamps. The car features the design traits from the Skoda Vision IN that made its debut at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. The car gets a wide Skoda grille with vertical slats, clamshell bonnet, wide and flared body. The SUV also comes with the option of 16/17-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant.

The Skoda Kushaq comes with features ventilated front seats with black leather seats and a grey design. The SUV also gets a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a chrome-plated gearstick knob upholstered in leather. Depending on the variant, the Skoda Kushaq comes with Ambient lighting, a 25.4-cm free-standing infotainment touchscreen, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wireless SmartLink technology, Skoda Air Care, climate control etc.

The Skoda Kushaq comes with a plethora of active and passive safety features depending on the trim. The brand boasts that the Kushaq is the first-in-segment to offer Electronic Stability Control as standard. Along with ESC, the car also comes with Rollover Protection and Multi Collision Braking (MKB). The SUV also features six airbags, Hill-Hold Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX and top-tether anchor etc. While parking sensors are standard, the Ambition and above trim also get a rearview camera with static guidelines. The Kushaq also comes with enhanced segment-first safety features such as EDS with XDS & XDS + (Electronic differential lock – advanced differential lock), HBV (Hydraulic brake-boosting) and BSW (Brake disc wiping).
2021 Skoda Kushaq – Warranty
Skoda offers a 4-year/1,00,000 km warranty on the Kushaq as standard. The customer can extend the warranty up to 6-year/1,50,000 km. In addition to this, Skoda will also offer a 2-year parts warranty, 2-year battery warranty, 3-year paint warranty, 6-year corrosion warranty and extended roadside assistance programs for up to 9 years.
