Suzuki is celebrating its first MotoGp championship and to commemorate the brand is launching the Suzuki Swift Sport World Championship Edition in select European markets. The special edition model comes with a sticker price of EUR 20,900. The Suzuki Swift Sport World Championship Edition comes with a special paint livery on the exterior, new interior trim with Joan Mir’s autograph but mechanically the car remains the same.
The Suzuki Swift World Championship Edition wears the Team Suzuki Ecstar’s racing Blue shade with a Silver livery that comes in the form of racing stripes running lengthwise across the car. Silver wing mirrors, black roof and sport edition bumpers on the front and rear as well as the uprated alloy wheels and low profile rubber tyres from the Swift Sport. The car retains all the Swift Sport standard features such as the larger radiator grille to improve air intake capacity, splitter effect on the front, diffuser effect on the rear with twin rounded exhaust finishers.
The Swift Sport World Championship Edition comes with fluorescent yellow accents on the dashboard, central console, and door trims reverberating with the sporty nature of the special edition car. The dashboard fascia on the passenger side also features Joan Mir’s signature with his race number and the vehicle number written by hand making each car unique.
Powering the Swift Sport Hybrid is the K14C series 1.4-litre four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that produces 140 PS of power and 230 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine comes with a 48V mild Hybris system with a Lithium-Ion battery that helps provide 13 extra horses. The Swift Sport is capable of achieving speeds of up to 210 kmph. In India, the Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 5-speed AMT gearbox.
