Suzuki Swift Sport arrives in India, spotted at import terminal

Maruti Suzuki is likely to introduce the Swift Sport in the Indian market soon and an example of the Suzuki Swift Sport that is available in the international market has been spotted at the import cargo terminal of the Airport in the national capital, which makes us believe that the brand might be importing a few of these for testing on Indian soil and for homologation purposes.

The Suzuki Swift Sport, in the pictures that are being circulated on the internet, has made its appearance sans camouflage and distinguishes itself with a larger meshed grille, black inserts on the headlights, added features on the bodywork, such as a splitter type bumper lip, side skirtings, twin chrome exhaust tips in the rear finished in chrome and integrated into the rear bumper with a black applique. The spied Suzuki Swift Sport also features 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels shod in 195/45 wide contact low profile rubber.

The Suzuki Swift Sport in the international market features a K14C series 1.4-litre 4-cylinder 16-valve direct-injection turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine that produces 140 ps of power and 230 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Suzuki Swift Sport claims to hit the 100kmph mark from a standstill in 8.1 seconds and can do a top speed of 210 kmph (Electronically Limited).

In the Indian market, the standard Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre 4-cylinder 16-valve naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83 ps of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The Suzuki Swift Sport in the international market features sporty interiors that come with red accents on the dashboard, door trims and the transmission tunnel. The Swift Sport also comes with exclusive semi-bucket sports seats with red stitching and sporty stainless-steel pedals. The instrument cluster on the Swift Sport features a red dial face on the tachometer and a dark silver face on the speedometer. The car also gets Boost and Oil Temperature gauges on the 4.7-inch digital MID (Multi-Information Display) located between the two analogue meters. The car also gets a dimpled flat-bottomed steering wheel with audio and

The brand may bring the Swift Sport in the Indian market as a limited edition model imported into the country via the CBU route and targeted towards performance car enthusiasts & petrol heads.
