We recently reported that Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the all-new Celerio this year. Now the launch appears to be just around the corner, as spy shots from a TVC shoot emerged on the internet. The new-generation Celerio will come with an all-new design, a new platform that offers roomier interiors and new features.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Exterior Design
According to spied images, the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will come with a new fascia. The undisguised car features a new oval radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern. The bumper is also all-new, and the Celerio comes with triangular headlamps. The front bumper features a wide air dam and houses fog lamps on both ends. The rear comes with new combination taillamps, red reflectors on the bumpers and a wash wipe on the rear windshield. The Celerio also comes with a new alloy wheel design.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Bigger is Better
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be underpinned by the new Heartect platform that also underpins the S-Presso, WagonR and Swift in India. Therefore, the new Celerio appears larger in size and gets larger windows on the sides and a long progressive roofline. The hatchback also has new crease lines on the sides and a longer, more upright bonnet.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Interior Features
While interior pictures are scarce at the moment, the brand is likely to employ a newly designed dashboard and offer new upholstery. The Celerio is also likely to come with a new central console with an armrest on higher specification models. The brand is also likely to concentrate on creature comfort features such as keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, digital multi-information display, and control mounted steering.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Engine Specifications
Powering the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is likely to be a K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that makes 67 Bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque. Higher-spec models may also come with a 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine that produces 82 Bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki is also likely to offer a CNG bi-fuel variant from the factory. Both engines will come with a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Launch Timeline
According to sources, some dealers have unofficially started accepting bookings for the new Celerio with an amount of INR 5,000 to INR 10,000. But Maruti is likely to announce the booking officially in the coming weeks. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is likely to come with a sticker price starting at INR 4.5 lakh ex-showroom.
