Maruti Suzuki will launch new Celerio & 4 facelifts this year

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch five new models in FY 2021-2022. The models include an all-new Celerio and four facelift models. The facelift models include the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and XL6.

Maruti Suzuki All-New Celerio

The brand is planning to introduce the all-new Celerio in the Indian market. Sources report that the all-new Celerio, which will be the second-generation version of the hatchback, is currently under test. The new Celerio will be based on the new Heartect platform and boast two petrol engine iterations. The brand will offer the new Celerio a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol powertrain, and higher-spec versions will receive a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Reports suggest that the new Celerio will come with an all-new design and come with roomier interiors and rich interior features.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was updated last year and unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020. The brand will offer minor tweaks to the exteriors and interiors in the new update. The updates to the Vitara Brezza are likely to be in line with the competition to stay at par in the hotly contested compact SUV segment. The model is not likely to receive any updates in the engine department.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is one of the hot-sellers in the Indian market. The hot hatchback made its debut back in 2015 and received a single facelift in 2019. This time the carmaker is likely to give the car a significant refresh. Reports suggest that the Baleno will come with a reworked front end, revised interiors and updates in the comfort and convenience department. The Baleno is not likely to receive any mechanical updates and come with the same BS6 powertrain that currently does duty on the car.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift

Maruti Suzuki heavily updated the Ertiga back in 2018. The second-generation Ertiga got updates inside-out and offers three-row seating. The 7-seater Ertiga will come with minor styling updates to the exterior and upgrades to the interior features. The brand is likely to continue with the same engine and mechanical components.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 Facelift

Like the Ertiga, the premium XL6 model will also receive minor styling updates inside and outside. Like its name, the three-row MPV offers 6-seats with captain seats in the middle row. But sources suggest that the XL6 will also come with a 7-seat iteration. The brand is also likely to offer newly-designed alloy wheels on the new XL6.

More information on the facelift models and the all-new Celerio will likely be available in the near future.
