Hyundai officially unveiled the Alcazar in the Indian market in early April 2021, with plans to make its market debut later that month. But the second outbreak of COVID-19 disease delayed the plans to May 2021. Owing to the current COVID-19 situation in the country and the lockdown in force, the launch plans are further delayed. The brand is likely to launch the Alcazar sometime in June 2021.
But, the variant details of the Hyundai Alcazar have leaked on the internet, giving us an early idea of what to expect when the SUV launches. Leaked documents show the variant details and the seating option, and the colours available on the 6 and 7 seater SUV. The SUV will also come with two engine options – a 2.0-litre petrol motor and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine.
According to leaked documents, the Hyundai Alcazar will be available with six trims. The options are Signature, Signature (O), Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O). The Signature trim is the entry-level variant, while the Platinum (O) is the top-of-the-line model.
The entry-level Signature will come with both petrol and diesel engine options but in the 6-seat manual version. The Signature (O) trim comes with the same configuration but only offer an automatic transmission. The Prestige model features both 6 and 7 seat options in petrol and diesel but only in the manual gearbox.
The Prestige (O) features an automatic petrol engine with a 6-seat option and a diesel automatic in the 7-seat option. The Platinum variant features a 7-seat option in both the petrol manual and diesel manual. The Platinum (O), the top-spec Alcazar, features 6-seats and only comes with the automatic gearbox option in petrol and diesel engines.
The Hyundai Alcazar will also come with six exterior colour options and only one colour on the interior. On the outside, the Alcazar comes with Phantom Black, Polar White, Starry Night, Taiga Brown, Titan Grey and Typhoon Silver colours. On the inside, Hyundai offers the Alcazar with a Cognac Brown colour theme.
The Hyundai Alcazar comes with two engine options. Powering the Alcazar is a third-generation 2.0-litre petrol engine from the Hyundai Tucson. This engine makes 159 PS of power. The SUV also comes with a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel engine that produces 115 PS of power. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox with an optimised Final Gear Ratio (FGR) and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic.
