Hyundai Alcazar SUV Ready for Launch in India

Hyundai has revealed that the brand will soon launch the all-new Hyundai Alcazar 6/7-seater SUV in India. The brand has also released a new video through its social media accounts.

The footage reveals the stylised ‘Alcazar’ name created by Hyundai’s other SUVs on a desert surface. Hyundai’s SUVs such as the Venue, Creta, Tucson and the Kona Electric SUV welcome the Hyundai Alcazar to the ‘SUV tribe.’ The Alcazar moniker was formed on the largest salt Deserts of the world – Rann of Kutch. The Alcazar wordmark stretches over 1 km in length, creating a larger than life branding experience. 

To accomplish the unique expedition, experts from across India came together for the novel task. The expedition not only showcases the skill of the expert drivers but also engine performance, handling, the drivability of Hyundai SUVs.

How is Hyundai Alcazar SUV Different from the Creta SUV?

Hyundai unveiled the Alcazar 6/7-seater SUV in the Indian market before the second wave of COVID-19 hit the country. The Alcazar is based on the Hyundai Creta SUV but comes with a lot of differentiating features. The Alcazar is larger than the Creta in overall length and terms of wheelbase. The Creta comes with a 2610mm wheelbase, but the Alcazar features a 2760mm wheelbase. The extra 150mm of wheelbase allows roomier space even in the 7-seater version. While the Creta offers 5-seats, the Alcazar comes with 6/7-seats options.

The Alcazar also features a new third-generation NU 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine produces 159 PS of power. The Creta, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine option. Diesel aficionados of the Alcazar are not disappointed either. The brand will be offering a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel engine that produces 115 PS of power.

The four-cylinder diesel engine is similar in architecture to the 1.5-litre oil burner offered on the Creta but features an optimised Final Gear Ratio (FGR). The 6-speed manual gearbox also comes with a triple cone synchro and TGS (Transmission Gear Shift) lever stopper enhancing the shift quality. The brand has also worked on the 6-speed torque-converter automatic to reduce power loss. The brand has also worked extensively in the suspension department to improve control and offer a plush ride on the SUV.

Hyundai Alcazar Interior Features

On the inside, the Hyundai Alcazar comes with features such a ventilated front row seats and AC vents in the third row with speed control. The car also comes with seatback trays on the driver and passenger seats. The 6-seater version comes with a recline function, one-touch tip, and tumble-fold for easy ingress and egress. The 6-seater variant with captain seats also comes with a centre armrest with cupholders. The third-row features a 50:50 split, and the SUV comes with 180-litre boot space.

Hyundai Alcazar Features

The SUV also comes with LED headlamps, LED indicators on the ORVMs and a new LED taillamp cluster. The SUV also gets a new radiator grille with a bold cascade design and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The brand also employs a plethora of safety features on the Alcazar SUV. The brand used a Ring Structure in the Engine room and strengthened B- and D-pillars. The SUV also comes with 75.6 % Advanced and High-Strength Steel (AHSS & HSS). The Alcazar also gets hot stamped parts for frontal crash energy flow, and the underbody is designed to absorb and disperse crash impact energy.
