2021 Honda CBR150R revealed, not planned for India

Honda has introduced the new CBR150R in Malaysia. The new CBR150R comes with a sharp design language that reverberates with the Honda CBR250RR and competes with the Yamaha YZF R15 in the South East Asian market. The new CBR150R also made its debut in the Indonesian market earlier in 2021. In Malaysia, Honda retails the CBR150R with a sticker price of MYR 12,499 MSRP, approximating INR 2.22 lakh, according to mid-market conversion rates.

Honda CBR150R – Design Highlights

The CBR150R comes with a sharp and chiselled design language. The motorcycle borrows its design philosophy from the Honda CBR250RR twin-cylinder sportbike. The Honda CBR150R also gets the CBR250RR-inspired double-split headlamps with eyebrow LED daytime running lights and sharp LED headlamps on the front. The sharp nose fairing optimises the aerodynamic efficiency of the motorcycle and also give it an aggressive stance. The CBR150R comes with a muscular fuel tank with deep knee recesses, aerodynamic side fairing with air extractors, a sharp tail and an upswept exhaust.

Honda CBR150R – Engine Specifications

Powering the CBR150R is a 149.2cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine. The liquid-cooled DOHC engine produces 16.3 PS of power and 13.7 Nm of torque. The engine features a PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) along with a 6-speed transmission and a wet multiple clutch. The Assist and Slipper clutch function enables a lighter clutch pull, reduced brake impact, as well as aggressive downshifts without losing traction on the rear wheel.

Honda CBR150R – Mechanical Specifications

The Honda CBR150R comes with a diamond frame chassis, and the motorcycle measures 1,983mm in length, 700mm in width and 1,090mm in height. The bike gets 1,310 mm of wheelbase and 151mm of ground clearance. The CBR150R also comes with an approachable 788mm saddle height and a low kerb weight of 139 kg. The motorcycle rides on an Inverted Telescopic Front Suspension and Monoshock with a Pro-Link System on the rear. Braking power comes from disc brakes with hydraulic callipers on the front and rear. The bike also features 17-inch alloy wheels shod in wide rubber tubeless tyres.

Honda CBR150R – Features

The Honda CBR150R comes with features such as LED headlamps and taillamps and a full digital instruments cluster. The bike also gets Anti-lock Braking and petal discs as standard.
