At the ongoing Ducati World Première, in the third episode, Ducati has revealed the 2021 Supersport 950. The new SuperSport not just comes with an upgraded Euro5 powertrain but also features new fairings designed by the Ducati Style Centre along with renewed aesthetics and electronic equipment. The Ducati SuperSport 950 is offered in two variants SuperSport 950 and SuperSport 950 S. The S model is offered in an Arctic White Silk paint theme along with the Ducati Red. Apart from the White with Red frame paint theme, the SuperSport 950 S is also offered with a more potent Öhlins suspension system.
Both the 2021 SuperSport 950 and S are powered by a new Euro5 compliant 937cc Testastretta 11-degree L-Twin-Cylinder water-cooled motor with Desmodromic valve distribution system that produces 110 hp of power and 93 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati QuickShift EVO bidirectional quickshifter and hydraulically controlled slipper and assist clutch with a self-bleeding master cylinder. The motor features 53mm throttle bodies with full ride-by-wire throttle and electronic fuel injection system. It also employs a lightweight 2-1-2 exhaust system.
In terms of hardware, the 2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 and S feature a tubular steel trellis frame that rides on fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi upside-down front fork suspension and a Sachs adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. On the other hand, the SuperSport 950 S features fully adjustable 48mm Öhlins upside-down front fork with TiN (Titanium Nitride) treatment and a fully adjustable Öhlins monoshock with progressive linkage on the rear. Both the standard and the S version feature twin 320mm semi-floating discs with radially-mounted Monobloc callipers with self bleeding master cylinder on the front and 245mm single disc on the rear equipped with a Bosch cornering ABS.
The 2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 features a new dynamic style with a new full-LED headlight with LED daytime running lights and the light signature from the Panigale V4. The SuperSport 950 also features new side air extractors the derives its inspiration from the double extractor of the Panigale V4 models. The lower fairing on the new model also extends to the exhaust hiding the mechanical components that reverberate with track machines. The front nose is also lower than the predecessor offering a sporty stance and connects to the tank bringing the body colour into the cockpit that features a new full-TFT colour dashboard. The rider also gets wind protection from the height-adjustable sporty cut Plexiglas windscreen. The motorcycle also features a Bosch 6-axis inertial platform that is capable of instantly detecting roll, yaw, and pitch angles.
Ducati is expected to launch the 2021 SuperSport 950 and the SuperSport 950 S in the Indian market in Q2 of 2021.
