BMW has launched the 2021 BMW M5 Competition in the Indian market. The “uncontested” M5 Competition comes with a price tag of INR 1.62 Crores ex-showroom. The premium performance sedan will come to the Indian market via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route. The BMW M5 Competition will be available to order exclusively from BMW’s online store in India.
The BMW M5 Competition comes with an unadulterated M feeling and performance features. The performance-oriented car comes with a retuned chassis and new shock absorbers. The car also gets an active M differential with centralised intelligent control and bespoke engine mountings. The vehicle also gets M multifunction seat with a set-up button to offer the driver enhanced driving dynamics and comfort level.
BMW M5 Competition – Engine Specifications
Powering the BMW M5 Competition is a 4.4-litre BMW M TwinPower Turbo 8-Cylinder petrol engine. The high-performance engine produces 625 Hp of power and 750 Nm of torque. The motor comes with an 8-Speed M Steptronic Transmission with Drivelogic, and the power is channelled to the wheels using an M xDrive Intelligent All-Wheel Drive with Active M Differential.
BMW M5 Competition – Performance Features
The powerful engine on the M5 Competition allows the car to achieve a 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. The vehicle also features Launch Control Function, Adaptive M-specific Suspension, M-specific Servotronic Steering, Cruise Control with Braking Function and Speed Limiter and Compound Brake Discs, all-round inner-vented, perforated and M Mode selector for ROAD, SPORT, TRACK.
The M5 Competition also gets an M Sport exhaust system and 20-inch M light-alloy wheels. The performance sedan also comes with large Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) sunroof. The BMW M5 Competition gets M Carbon ceramic brakes, M Carbon engine cover, 20-inch 810 M double-spoke wheels in polished Orbit Grey as optional extras.

The BMW M5 Competition comes with BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7.0. The car gets a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display along with 3D Navigation. The vehicle also comes with a 12.3-inch Control Display with BMW Virtual Assistant, BMW Gesture Control, Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
The car also comes with a Harman Kardon Surround Sound with 16 speaker systems. The vehicle also comes with Rear Seat Entertainment, Ambient Air package, BMW Individual Shadow line in lights, and an optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system as an optional extra. The car also comes with a BMW Display Key.
BMW M5 Competition – Safety
The BMW M5 comes with multiple active and passive safety features. The car comes with six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). The car also gets Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC). Adding to the safety, the vehicle gets an electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounting. Also available is Attentiveness Assistance and an emergency spare wheel.
