Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has launched the Limited Edition Toyota Fortuner TRD in the Indian market priced starting INR 34.98 lakh ex-showroom for the 4×2 Automatic Transmission Diesel variant and INR 36.88 lakh ex-showroom for the 4×4 Automatic Transmission Diesel variant in the Indian market.
The Toyota Fortuner TRD edition is the work of the brand’s heritage Toyota Racing Development (TRD) which bring a sporty appeal to the new Fortuner TRD. The new Fortuner TRD edition is available in both four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive options with a diesel powertrain matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with sequential and paddle shifters.
The Fortuner TRD model features external highlights such as a TRD radiator grille garnish, stylish front bumpers, rear bumper with red TRD logo, a dual-tone roof, 18-inch charcoal black alloy wheels, auto fold ORVMs, automatic Bi-Beam LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, puddle lamps, LED combination tail lamps, LED front fog lamps, powered tailgate with height adjust memory and jam protection, chrome-plated door handles and window beltline.
On the interiors, the Toyota Fortuner TRD edition features Head-Up Display (HUD) illuminated scuff plates, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 360-degree panoramic rearview monitor, a dual-tone dashboard, etc in addition to features such as soft-touch leather on the dash, wood-grain embellishments, Optitron instrumentation, control mounted steering wheel, powered driver and passenger seats, touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging etc.
The Toyota Fortuner TRD edition is powered by a BS6 emissions-compliant 2.8-litre in-line four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC diesel engine with a variable nozzle turbocharger and intercooler that makes 177 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift.
The Toyota Fortuner TRD also features safety features such as 7 SRS airbags, Whiplash Injury Lessening front seats, pretensioner and force limiter on the front seats, Hill Start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with EBD and Brake Assists, Speed Auto Lock with Emergency Unlock, Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child restraint system and impact-absorbing structure with pedestrian protection support.
