Tata Motors has launched a new subscription model for electric vehicles (EV) which claims to be the first of its kind and will enable prospective EV buyer more accessibility for the Tata Nexon EV. The brand has announced that Tata’s flagship electric vehicle, the Nexon EV at an all-inclusive fixed rental starting at just INR 41,900/- per month.
Customers can select from tenures that start from a minimum period of 18 months to 24 and 36 months. The subscription program is a result of a collaboration with Orix Auto Infrastructure Services Limited and is amongst the top leasing companies in India and the service is being offered in 5 major cities – Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, in its initial phase.
The entire process of vehicle registration and road tax takes places through digital channels and additional benefits such as comprehensive insurance coverage, on-call roadside assistance plus free maintenance with periodic servicing and doorstep delivery. Customers can also have their own EV charger installed at their home or office for charging convenience.
The Subscription service is targeted towards individuals with inter-city job transfers, corporates who prefer to lease, expatriates who live for a fixed tenure, etc. At the end of the tenure of their subscription, customers can either choose to extend the subscription or just return the vehicle.
The Tata Nexon EV is powered by an IP67 standards-compliant Liquid-Cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor coupled to a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion liquid-cooled battery pack that can develop 129 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque matched to a single-speed transmission. The Nexon EV can be charged using regular and fast charging and the electric car can achieve an 80% state of charge in 60 minutes using a fast charger and the regular charging time takes 8 hours from 20% to 100% when plugged into a 15A socket at home.
The Tata Nexon EV subscription starts from INR 41,900 for a tenure of 36 months, INR 44,900 for the period of 24 months and INR 47,900 for a period of 18 months.
