2020 Mahindra Thar price hike happens tomorrow, BOOK NOW

The all-new Mahindra Thar has swept the lifestyle SUV segment off its feet by crossing the 20,000 booking mark. In the Diwali festive season, the brand also delivered a batch of 1,000 units of the all-new Thar across the country, in addition to the 500 units that were delivered between the 7th November 2020 and 8th November 2020. The brand also announced in the recent past that it will be ramping up operations to cope up with the surge in demand.

Now, a media report suggests that the company is expected to hike the prices on the Mahindra Thar from 1st December 2020, onwards. Sources say that the customers who have already booked the Thar or registered their interest for the all-new Thar are receiving pre-recorded messages through SMS, Phone Calls and E-Mails. According to sources, the Thar’s pricing will be revised and will be effective from 1st December 2020 for all fresh bookings. Customer’s who have already booked the Thar before the effective price hike are expected to receive price protection, matched through discounts but are likely to have slight variations on RTO, TAX and Insurance.

The all-new Mahindra Thar was launched at INR 9.80 lakh ex-showroom for the Standard 6-seater Soft-Top model, but recently we reported that the company discontinued the AX Trim which consisted of the 6-seater Soft Top which means the Thar is now available with the AX Optional trims starting at INR 11.90 lakh ex-showroom. This also means that the side facing seats which were available on the entry-level model are now gone from the line-up.

The all-new Thar is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 130 Bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. It is also available in a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol option that makes 150 Bhp of power and 320 Nm on the automatic transmission and 300 Nm of torque on the manual transmission option. Both powertrains come with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The all-new Mahindra Thar also scored 4-stars for safety in both the adult occupant protection and child occupant protection at the Global NCAP.
