At the beginning of 2020, Hyundai Motors India Limited launched the sportier Grand i10 NIOS with a Turbocharged Petrol unit which is now priced at INR 7,75,350 ex-showroom, Delhi and comes only in a Manual Transmission option. The Grand i10 NIOS Turbo is offered in two dual-tone colours – Fiery Red with Black Roof and Polar White with Black Roof along with Aqua Teal and Polar White, single tone colour options.
On the outside, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Turbo distinguishes itself by having a dark themed radiator grille finished in Gloss Black along with a ‘TURBO’ badge finished in Red. The Grand i10 NIOS also gets black ORVMs integrated with turn indicators, dark inserts in the projector headlamp units with boomerang LED daytime running lights and ‘TURBO’ badging on the tailgate. The Grand i10 NIOS Turbo also features 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars and a black finished roof rail.
On the inside, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Turbo distinguishes itself by offering a dark dashboard with red accents on the air-con vents, rotary knobs, gear boot stitching and seat piping. The Grand i10 NIOS Turbo also features a textured dashboard fascia and door pads, 13.46-cm semi-digital instruments cluster with analogue tachometer and an LCD multi-information display etc.
Comfort and convenience highlights include a controls mounted steering wheel, instruments cluster integrated 20.25-cm touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple Carplay integration, smartphone-based navigation, voice recognition, wireless smartphone charging, USB connectivity, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, keyless entry and more.
The Hyundai i20 NIOS Turbo is powered by a BS6 emission compliant 1.0-litre three-cylinder in-line Turbo-Gasoline Direct Injection (T-GDi) petrol engine that produces 100 ps of power and 171.6 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. To put things into perspective, its closest rival the Volkswagen Polo TSI is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) three-cylinder in-line petrol engine that produces 110 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission.
