We are just a day shy from the launch of the most-anticipated upgrade the 2020 BMW G 310 GS and the G 310 R in the Indian market. The brand already teased us with the BMW G 310 R and revealed that the production on the new upgraded model was in full swing at its cooperation partner’s Hosur production facility. For 2020, BMW Motorrad has given the motorcycle a few cosmetic changes, in terms of colour themes, but the motorcycle also gets a few mechanical changes and new improved equipment.

It is not a secret that the BMW G 310 GS will come with slightly reworked body panels, a new LED headlamp cluster with an integrated LED daytime running light that runs horizontally across the centre similar to the F 900 XR and LED indicators. But the motorcycle also receives a throttle-by-wire upgrade along with adjustable clutch lever and brake lever. The brand has also revamped the colour schemes and the BMW G 310 GS is expected to be launched with Metallic Titanium Grey, Polar White and the Rallye finish with the Deep blue and Red combination. The BMW G 310 GS will also come in the Black with Yellow accents ‘40 Years of GS’ edition. Similar to the recently unveiled BMW R 1250 GS.

The 2020 Model Year is also expected to receive mechanical changes such as an anti-hopping (Slipper/Assist Clutch) that will allow the rider a smoother off-the-line performance along with reducing the clutch pressure and more fluid clutch operation leading to more engine refinement. The engine has also been upgraded to match full Euro5/BS6 compliance and is powered by a  313cc, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined, liquid-cooled, four valves, fuel-injected DOHC motor that churns out 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is speculated to achieve Euro5/BS6 conformity by making changes to the closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter system.

The electronics package is likely to remain the same and full details on the motorcycle along with its pricing will be revealed tomorrow.
