Mahindra has revealed its intention to deliver 14,000 units of XUV700 SUVs to customers by January 14, 2022. The company made the announcement of commencing deliveries of the XUV700 SUV from October 30 via its Twitter handle. Although, some of the images shared on social media platforms suggest that some cars may have already been delivered. Mahindra’s priced the XUV700 at INR 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the top-spec AX7 Luxury AT AWD variant of the SUV costs INR 22.99 lakh ex-showroom.

Mahindra XUV700 – Achievements

Mahindra’s XUV700 SUV has become the first Made-In-India vehicle to scale the highest motorable road in the world. The SUV has set a new global benchmark by climbing the ‘Umling La’, which is 19,300 ft above sea level. Partnered with ‘CarAndBike’ and ‘Auto Today’, the expedition consisted of driving enthusiasts from the automotive fraternity.

The two automatic, petrol-engined XUV700 SUVs started their journey from New Delhi towards Manali on Day 1. It took a total of 4 days for the SUVs to cover Manali, Leh, and Hanli to reach Umling La. The SUV showcased its spirited performance throughout the expedition despite the lack of oxygen due to the rise in altitude.

Mahindra XUV700 for the Differently Disabled

In August of 2021, Mahindra automotive manufactured a special seat for Paralympian athlete and gold medallist Deepa Malik. Aspiring to buy an SUV which could fulfil her needs, Deepa requested brands like Mahindra, Tata Motors, and MG. Accepting the challenge, Mahindra Research Valley designed an ingress and egress system using the seating system from True Assis Tech. With the capability to swivel at 90-degrees, the unique seat grants differently-abled passengers easier ingress and egress in the car.

Mahindra XUV700 – Powertrain Options

Mahindra offers the XUV700 with petrol and diesel engine options paired with 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options. The 2.0-litre m-Stallion, the turbo-petrol motor, produces 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, on the other hand, produces 182 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. The company offers AWD as an option on the top-spec AX7 Luxury trim of the SUV.
