Toyota Fortuner GR Sport variant revealed

Toyota has introduced the new Fortuner GR Sport edition in the Indonesian market. The GR or Gazoo Racing edition vehicle portfolio made its debut back in 2017, and the Fortuner SUV is the latest addition to the GR line-up. The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport will replace the TRD Sportivo branding in Indonesia. The GR Sport edition will come exclusively in the 4X2 rear-wheel drive option and feature cosmetic upgrades to the vehicle. The Toyota Yaris supermini, the Ayga, Rush, and Veloz in the Indonesian market also hone the GR Sport edition brand.

Toyota Fortuner GR Sport – Exterior Features

The Fortuner GR Sport edition comes with a new front bumper and grille design. The grille comes with a dark chrome finish and a trough mesh design. The LED headlights blend well with the front grille, and the bumper comes with a new sporty design with dark chrome accents. The GR Sport Fortuner also comes with a new LED fog lamp design.

The Fortuner GR Sport comes with a new bumper with a diffuser effect and wraparound LED taillamps on the rear. The brand also employs new dual-tone alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish. To enhance convenience, the brand also offers an automated power tailgate with a kick sensor. Finally, the special edition Fortuner also comes with a ‘GR Sport’ badge and a ‘GR’ sticker on the side.

Toyota Fortuner GR Sport – Interior Features 

On the inside, the Fortuner GR Sport comes with 7-seats in leatherette upholstery and a dark interior theme. The SUV also gets a new adaptable dual-cone automatic climate control and 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Features include a surround-view monitor and a new rear-seat entertainment system with illumination. Also new is a wireless smartphone charger and electrochromic IRVM. 

Toyota Fortuner GR Sport – Engine Specifications

Powering the Toyota Fortuner GR Sport is a 2.4-litre 2GD FTV in-line four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The engine produces 149.6 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The motor comes with a 6-speed Sport Sequential Switchmatic automatic gearbox. Another option is a 2TR FE in-line four-cylinder petrol engine with Dual VVT-i. The gasoline engine produces 163 PS of power and 242.2 Nm of torque. The petrol engine also comes with a 6-speed Sport Sequential Switchmatic automatic gearbox.

Toyota Fortuner GR Sport – Safety

The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport features Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Brake Signal (EBS) and Trailer Sway Control. The SUV also gets Automatic Traction Control (A-TRC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). In addition to this, the Fortuner GR Sport also comes with additional safety equipment such as multiple airbags, ABS+EBD etc.
