Force Gurkha pick-up to launch soon? Spotted again

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Force Motors is readying itself for the launch of a pickup version of the Gurkha SUV. We have the latest spy shots of the  Gurkha pickup truck. In India, pickup truck’s demand is not very high per se. But, still, there is a market for this segment as well. Currently, there are only two pickup truck offerings for the Indian market. First is the Isuzu V-Cross Hi-Lander, which starts from INR 19.49 lakh. Second is the Toyota Hilux which starts from INR 30.4 lakh. Both prices mentioned are in the ex-sh.

What Is The Gurkha Pick-Up Truck?

We understand Force Motors is testing one based on its Cruiser MUV. Once launched, it will position itself into the Gurkha brand and will become the most affordable pickup truck in India for passenger vehicle space. The test mule pretty much looks production ready too. Thus, the launch might happen sooner than later.

Interestingly enough, this is not the first time we are spotting this pickup truck testing on the roads. Indonesia-based Republik Motor unveiled it first at Defence Expo and Forum. This was under the Ksatria brand with intended military use. There we use Repulik using this pickup truck with a missile launcher too. Force Gurkha Pickup’s key highlight is its Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6 derived looks. Talking of the test mule in India, it was completely naked, without any camouflage, thus we have an idea of its exterior outlook.

Engine And Gearbox Option

We are aware of the fact that every Force Motors, both PV and CV vehicle uses the same Mercedes-Benz sourced FM CR 2.6L turbo diesel engine. The engine’s performance figures read  90 BHP and 250 Nm. We are expecting a sole 5-speed gearbox and a 4X4 transfer case with front and rear mechanically locking diff on offer.
