Zontes Motorcycles recently announced its plan to enter the Indian market. Not too long after that, the bike manufacturer also announced the lineup it will bring to India. The brand will be getting 5 products from its international lineup. These will be – the 350R, 350T, 350T ADV, GK350 and 350X. We have already taken a close look at two of Zontes’ offerings, the 350T and 350T ADV. And now, we take a closer look at what the brand has to offer for touring enthusiasts.
One of the 5 motorcycles Zontes is bringing is the 350X touring bike. Unlike the 350T and 350T ADV, the 350X is more road-focused and will also offer sportier dynamics than the former two. Think of it as the difference between a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and Versys 1000. Just like those two, these Zontes bikes are built for munching miles. However, like the two Kawasakis, they do it much differently.
Zontes 350X – Highlights
The first thing you notice about the 350X is its alien predator-like look. The front of the bike is dominated by the large windscreen. The windscreen also gets electric adjustability for more ease of use. Next, you get to see the LED position lamp in the middle. At first glance, you may even miss the main headlight. The main headlight gets a projector unit and sits between the two LED DRLs. Moving to the sides, you see the neatly integrated turn signal lamps. Behind and above them, you see the large 19-litre fuel tank and tall handlebars. The handlebars provide comfortable ergonomics and leverage when you want to hustle the bike around corners.
Internationally, Zontes also offers the 350X with sporty-looking panniers. These are also matched to the colour of the bike. As of now, we are not sure if they will be available in India. But they will surely increase its appeal if the brand does.
Apart from these changes, the mechanical bits remain the same as the 350T and 350T ADV. Thus, it uses the same 348cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill that makes 38 HP and 32 Nm. The Zontes 350X measures 2,055 mm in length, 795 mm in width and 1,390 mm in height. The wheelbase of the 350X, at 1,380 mm, is shorter than the 350T & 350T ADV. The ground clearance is also lower at 152 mm. Although, riders will appreciate the low seat height of 795 mm.
