YZF-R15 Version 3.0 with BSVI engine & new colours priced at INR 1,45,300

Yamaha has launched the BSVI compliant version of the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 (155cc) in India priced at INR 1,45,300 ex-showroom Delhi. The R15 is a very popular motorcycle here in the Indian market and the updated model will reach dealerships by the 3rd week of December 2019. Yamaha has also announced 3 new colours for the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 which includes Racing Blue, Thunder Grey and Darknight. Also, the racing blue model gets blue coloured wheels as standard.

  • Racing Blue – INR 1,45,900
  • Thunder Grey – INR 1,45,300
  • Darknight – INR 1,47,300

This makes the BSVI model INR 3,000 more expensive.

The BSVI compliant YZF-R15 Version 3.0 now weighs 142 kg and also gets a side stand engine cut-off switch, dual horn and radial tubeless tyre at the rear as standard. The BSVI motor is now a 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder block producing 18.6 PS of power and 14.1 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. Both the power and torque output have decreased with the BSVI update; the BS4 model produced 19.3 PS and 14.7 Nm. Other equipment such as Variable Valve Actuation, slipper-assist clutch, dual-channel ABS are still on offer.

The Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0 (155cc) has always been a benchmark motorcycle in the segment, and it is still the most favourite sportbike for beginners. There is no direct competition as per engine capacity, but one can pit the KTM RC 125 against this motorcycle based on pricing.
