Yezdi recently made its comeback to the Indian market launching three motorcycles. The flagship of which is the Yezdi Adventure. While the Yezdi Adventure directly competes with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the 334cc Liquid-Cooled engine is also nearly as capable as the KTM 390 Adventure. While the KTM 390 Adventure does come with advanced electronics and high-specification suspension and brakes, it also commands a price tag that is nearly two times that of the Yezdi Adventure.
Both motorcycles also have a lot of differences in terms of design, but looks are subjective, and both share a common purpose – adventure riding. Therefore, we pin the Yezdi Adventure against the KTM 390 Adventure in a technical specification comparison, so you can make an informed buying decision.
The Yezdi Adventure motorcycle comes with a price tag starting at INR 2,09,900 ex-showroom. Depending on the choice of colour, the price can go up to INR 2,18,900 ex-showroom. The KTM 390 Adventure comes with a price tag starting at INR 3.28 lakh ex-showroom. The brand only offers a standard model on the 390 Adventure available in two colour options.
Powering the Yezdi Adventure is a 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The engine produces 30.2 PS of power and 29.9 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed transmission. On the other hand, the KTM 390 Adventure comes with a 373.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The fast-revving engine produces 44 Hp of power and 37 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a PASC assist/slipper clutch.
Yezdi revealed that the Adventure motorcycle comes with a conventional telescopic fork suspension with 200mm of travel on the front. The brand also offers a preload-adjustable rear suspension with 180mm of travel. The Yezdi Adventure comes with 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes. The bike offers a ground clearance of 220mm, a seat height of 815mm, a 15.5-litre fuel tank and tips the scale 188 kg. The Yezdi Adventure comes with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke-wire rims.
The KTM Adventure, on the other hand, comes with an upside-down WP APEX front fork suspension with 170 mm of travel. The rear comes with a preload-adjustable WP APEX monoshock offering 177 mm of travel. Braking power comes from a 320mm single disc with a radially mounted calliper on the front and a 230mm disc. The KTM 390 Adventure offers a ground clearance of 200mm, a commanding 855mm seat height, a 14.5-litre fuel tank and a dry weight of 162 kg. The KTM 390 Adventure rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels.
The Yezdi Adventure comes with features such as a first-of-its-kind Tilt Adjust display. The display offers functionalities such as trip, distance to empty, gear indicator and ABS mode indicator etc. The bike also comes with Road, Off-Road and Rain riding modes as well as all-around LED lights as standard. Yezdi also offers USB and Type C charging points and turn-by-turn navigation as standard. The KTM 390 Adventure comes with all-LED lighting, Cornering ABS function and lean-angle sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), full-colour TFT display, ride-by-wire throttle, up/down quickshifter with auto-blipper and Bluetooth connectivity.
