Yamaha’s new Chennai plant to be functional soon

Yamaha’s new upcoming facility in Chennai is all set to commence production very soon. Set up at Vallam Vadagal in Kancheepuram district, Yamaha will invest a total of Rs. 1,500 crore in a phased manner.

Once operational, this new facility will have an initial production capacity of 4.5 lakh units annually, which can be ramped up to 18 lakh units by 2018.

Yamaha will also focus on activities such as ‘Yamaha Family Safety Programme’, ‘Yamaha Child Safety Programme’ and ‘Yamaha Female Riding Programme’.

Yamaha also plans to increase their touchpoints from the current 1,200 to 2,000 by next year.

The next big launch from the Japanese two-wheeler giant will be the much awaited R25 sportsbike.
