Yamaha is known for its supremacy in two wheel engineering and musical instrument, but at the Tokyo motor show, Yamaha has stunned us. The brand presented a motorcycle inspired sports car. Yamaha says that the concept is designed to express a driver-machine relationship close in feeling to the world of motorcycle riding.
Interiors
Partly designed by Gordan Murray, it shares the DNA of McLaren F1. This 2-seater compact sports car has been created with a new technology called the iStream Carbon. Technology originally demonstrated by Murray allows cars to be built lightweight and at a lower cost than traditional method. IStream method has been used in the T25 city car prototype, and now it takes credit for Sports Ride’s structure and dimensions in Yamaha’s car. The low-cost carbon structure could be the next big thing in future supercars

The car is 3900mm long, 1720mm wide and 1170mm high. Weighs only 750 Kg which means it falls under direct competition to Mazda MX-5 (which is 250Kg heavier) and Lotus Elise.The exteriors are free flowing ad curvy, while the interiors highlight every detail with the same free flowing lines intricately.
Yamaha has used its expertise in motorcycling, Yamaha has tried to bring in the involved and active feeling of riding a motorcycle into this car. So a car that feels like a motorcycle? Quite interesting isn’t it.
Yamaha has given us the taste of their two wheel world, we are not far from experiencing their 4 wheel world.
