Yamaha had first announced the YZF-R1 superbike in our country last year priced at INR 20,73,074 (ex-showroom Delhi). After the recent revision in excise duties, Yamaha has passed on the benefit to the end user by reducing the price of their flagship motorcycle by INR 2.57 lakh. The new 2018 YZF-R1 now costs INR 18,16,192 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The bike continues to be made available in Yamaha Blue & Tech Black colour options. The bike is imported as a CBU model from Japan.
Powering the Yamaha YZF-R1 is a 998cc, parallel 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, 4-stroke, DOHC, forward inclined motor producing 200 PS of power @ 13500 RPM and 112.4 Nm of torque @ 11500 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The bike is built around a diamond frame and measures 2055mm in length, 690mm in width, 1150mm in height, 1405mm in wheelbase and has a seat height of 855mm along with ground clearance of 130mm. The bike has a wet weight of 200 kg and can carry 17L of fuel.
Inspired from the MotoGP offering from Yamaha, the new R1 comes loaded with features such as riding modes, ABS, traction control, titanium exhaust, Inertial Measurement Unit, slide control, launch control, lift control, quickshifter, LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, full digital instrument console, etc.
