Yamaha TMax 560 maxi-scooter revealed, ready for international launch

Yamaha is all set to launch the Yamaha TMax 560 maxi-scooter in the international market. The Yamaha TMax 560 is the successor to the TMax 530 that is available in the international market and the TMax 560 is slated to be launched on the 8th of May 2020. As usual, Yamaha will have no plans to bring this one to India. The Yamaha TMax comes is two paint options – Icon Grey and Sword Grey and is priced starting at JPY 11,60,000 in the Japanese market.

In terms of its design, the TMax 560 looks similar to the TMax 530 but has key differentiating features in the styling department. The TMax 560 features a multi-LED slanted dual headlight with integrated LED daytime running lights and sleek body integrated turn indicators and a new T-shaped LED tail lamp unit. 

The Yamaha TMax 560 comes with a tall electrically adjustable windscreen visor, an aerodynamic front apron, boomerang styled side section, side cowling with vents, ergonomic step-up seats, ergonomic footboard, upright handlebar, 15-inch alloy wheels, and the maxi-scooter comes with an overall length of 2,200mm, a width of 765mm, 800mm of seat height and a wheelbase of 1,575mm with 125mm of ground clearance and 218 kg of wet weight. 

The Yamaha TMax 560 is powered by a Euro5 compliant 562cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder 4-stroke, 4-valve, fuel-injected DOHC engine with a 70mm bore & 73mm stroke that produces 47 hp of power and 55.7 Nm of torque matched to a V-Belt Automatic transmission.

For cycle parts, the Yamaha TMax 560 comes with a lightweight aluminium twin-spar die-cast frame and long swingarm that rides on upside-down telescopic front forks with 120mm of travel and single shock mounted on the rear swingarm. The stopping power comes from 267mm dual disc brakes with hydraulic callipers on the front and a single 282mm disc with a hydraulic calliper on the rear. The maxi-scooter comes with 15-inch alloy wheels shod in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear H-rated tubeless tyres.

The Yamaha TMax 560 also features a large under-seat storage compartment that can accommodate two jet style helmets or a single full-face helmet, keyless ignition, a car-like twin pot analogue-digital instruments console with analogue speedometer & tachometer along with a digital MID in between, centre stand with locking feature and traction control with 2-level Drive mode to prevent wheel slip in wet weather conditions.
