Yamaha Motor India has registered sales of 55,151 units in January 2021. In January 2020, Yamaha recorded sales of 35,913 units securing 54% month-on-month growth. Yamaha has consecutively reported growth in the sales volume since the brand resumed production from July 2020. Yamaha is working on product promotion, retail network strategies and customer reach starting from 2021, that led to the positive sales volume in January. The uptrend in sales volume from the lifting of lockdown restrictions till the end of the Calendar Year 2020 prepared the brand to capitalize on business goals for 2021.
The brand is now working on enhancing its retail and product strategies in 2021 to keep the sales momentum going and cope up with the positive sales records from the past months. The increase in demand for personal mobility solutions, in the post-COVID-lockdown era, has given rise to the overall demand in the sector and Yamaha expects to improve sales volume further in 2021.
Yamaha has also introduced the new ‘Connect X’ Application enabled with Bluetooth technology to keep up with the trend. The brand has also introduced the ‘Customize Your Warrior’ campaign, especially for MT-15 aficionados giving them the option of choosing from 11 unique colour combinations, at the time of booking the motorcycle. In addition to this, Yamaha has also inaugurated the VIRTUAL YAMAHA STORE and started online sales of Yamaha Apparel and Merchandise from Amazon Online Store.
Yamaha is also running the ‘Test Ride my Yamaha’ campaign to further reach out to customers. The new campaign provides a personalized riding experience to customers who wish to own a Yamaha product and are keen on knowing about the new technologies and the safety features available on the scooter or motorcycle. Features such as Yamaha’s ‘Stop & Start system’, ‘Smart Motor Generator (SMG)’ and the ‘Side stand engine cut-off switch’ are demonstrated through the Test Ride my Yamaha across all showrooms in India.
