Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha has announced the launch of the World Raid edition of its Ténéré 700 adventure touring motorcycle. The latest Ténéré 700 World Raid Edition now gets a whole host of mechanical and feature updates over the standard version. Offered in two new colour schemes – Icon Blue and Midnight Black, the Ténéré 700 World Raid continues its 1980s legacy. Yamaha introduced the original XT600 Ténéré for customers who preferred long-distance adventures to discover new landscapes and terrains.
The World Raid edition of the Ténéré 700 retains the same overall adventure-touring design concept as the original with all-new elements. These include the new low-slung, updated dual fuel tank setup that allows for 7-litres of extra fuel carrying capacity. Additionally, the adventure motorcycle gets dual-filler caps, a claimed range of 500 Km, larger footpegs, and a protective skid plate. Other details of the bike include the newly-designed air cleaner box, new radiator grille, split-style saddle, and improved wind protection.
Powering the new Ténéré 700 World Raid is the 689cc, 4-valve, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin DOHC motor with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine develops 72.4 PS and 68 Nm, with the gearbox sporting a wet, multiple-disc clutch. Meanwhile, the adventure motorcycle retains the double-cradle, steel tube backbone frame with a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel. The Ténéré 700 World Raid uses a high-spec, 43mm, fully-adjustable inverted KYB front forks with 230mm of wheel travel.
On the other hand, the bike uses an aluminium, piggyback rear shock with a redesigned swingarm for 220mm of wheel travel. For braking performance, the adventure motorcycle gets dual 282mm front discs and a single 245mm disc at the rear. Yamaha has also equipped the bike with 3-Mode switchable ABS for added traction and a 5-inch colour TFT display. The display also enables riders to access their text messages and incoming calls via their connected phones along with other information.

These include Assam, Northeast, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, each with their own cashback offers on the two scooters.
