Showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, what we have here is the Yamaha Hyper Slaz 150 sportsbike. But, we will not be getting it. Yamaha kept it on stands just to attract eyeballs, and there are no plans of introducing such a performance oriented 150cc motorbike for our market.
A naked street focused version of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0, the Hyper Slaz is all the bike we might need for the city rumble, but Yamaha isn’t keen on introducing it. For reference, this motorcycle is very close to the M-Slaz sold in the markets abroad.
The Yamaha M-Slaz is powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 16.1 BHP or power @ 8,500 RPM and 14.3 NM of torque @ 7,500 RPM matched to a six-speed gearbox.
This Hyper Slaz 150 concept revealed sharp styling, LED tail lamp, digital instrument console, USD front fork, front and rear disc brake, step-up seats, fat tyres and was based on the Deltabox chassis.
Would you like Yamaha to introduce something like the Hyper Slaz 150 in India? But then, what will happen to the 150cc FZ. And if the new bike is priced higher, what about the FZ-25?
