Yamaha has unveiled the new Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooter in the Indian market. The new Fascino 125 comes with a retro-scooter design but offers loads of contemporary features. But the highlight of the new model is a new hybrid system that provides power assist to the internal combustion engine.
2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid: How Does the Hybrid System Work?
The Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid comes with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) System as standard. The new Hybrid system comes with power assist to the petrol engine when you accelerate from a stop. The Smart Motor Generator (SMG) also does the duty to silently start the internal combustion engine by reversing the direction of electricity.
This combination reduces the instability during start-outs in tandem riding or during uphill climbs. The power assist is cancelled after three seconds of acceleration or immediately when the throttle is cut back. The rider is also notified of the Hybrid System operation using a light on the instruments cluster. The new system also gives the Fascino 125 Fi the ability to have a silent and seamless Automatic Start-Stop system.
2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – Engine Specifications
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid comes with a BS6 compliant 125 cc blue core engine. The air-cooled fuel-injected engine produces 8.2 PS of power and 10.3 Nm of torque. The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi also features a maintenance-free battery, a 90/90-12 front tyre and a 110/90-10 rear tyre.
2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – Design Highlights
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid comes with a neo-retro design. According to the brand, the target group for the scooter will primarily be the customer’s in their 20s. This target group prefers fashion, performance, form and function. The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid comes with an LED headlamp cluster with a triangular design, LED DRLs, and LED taillights. The scooter features a sweptback tail, large ergonomically designed seats, a generous footboard and 21-litres of under-seat storage.
2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – Top Features
The new scooter comes with a full digital instruments cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, featuring the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X App. This function allows the user functions such as Answer Back, Locate my Vehicle, Riding History, Parking Record & Hazard. The scooter also comes with a Side stand engine cut-off switch and a multi-function key with a seat opener function.
2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – Variants & Colours
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid will come in two variants – Disc and Drum. Both the Disc and Drum variants come with Vivid Red, Cool Blue Metallic, Yellow Cocktail, Dark Matt Blue, Suave Copper, Cyan Blue, and Metallic Black colours.
Yamaha has not yet announced the pricing of the Fascino 125 Fi.
