The 2024 Yamaha Aerox Alpha has been introduced in Indonesia. It is a Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter with international specifications. It is available in a large variety of colours and four variations. With the latest version, it offers a lot more functions.
Aerox Alpha comes with a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 15.4 PS power and 14.2 Nm of torque. It is mated to a gearbox that Yamaha refers to as the Electric CVT (Continuous variable transmission) or YECVT.
Each of the four variations has a unique colour scheme. Both the Turbo variation and the top-tier Turbo Ultimate variant have a single matt dark grey colour scheme. CyberCity and Matt Blue Yellow are the two colours available for the mid-spec Cyber City variation.
Yamaha Aerox Alpha has two riding modes option available: S Mode and Town Commuting. For riding in the city, the Town Commuting mode provides a more relaxed power delivery. When you desire greater power and performance, you should use the S Mode, often known as sport mode. The scooter also now has what Yamaha refers to as Y-Shift. This allows the rider to adjust the acceleration in three different modes: High, Medium, and Low.
It also gets a new TFT console with three display modes. The display modes are Standard, Dynamic and Sport. The console also offers smartphone connectivity via Yamaha Y-Connect for features like call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
Compared to the India-spec Aerox 155, the Alpha has disc brakes at both front and rear. Currently, the Aerox Alpha is sold in Indonesia at a starting price of 2,99,00,000 Indonesian Rupiahs or Rs 1.56 lakh, which is quite close to the Aerox 155’s ex-showroom price of INR 1,48,400 in India.
