Yamaha recalls 125cc hybrid scooters in India

Yamaha is recalling its Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooter models in India. The voluntary recall is pertains to a brake lever function in select units of the two above mentioned models. Yamaha India is recalling both the scooters as part of their commitment to safety and quality.

Yamaha Ray ZR & Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – What is the Recall About?

According to Yamaha the recall affects the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid manufactured between January 1, 2022, to January 4, 2024. It has come to light that close to 3,00,000 units of the scooters are affected and the real is taking place with immediate effect.

For customer safety the recall aims to resolve the problem with a replacement part. The replacement brake part for the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid will be provided at no cost to the concerned customers. In addition to this, customers with Yamaha scooters with manufacturing dates from January 2022 onwards can check for the recall eligibility online at Yamaha India’s website.

Customers can navigate to the Service section and navigate to the “SC 125 Voluntary Recall” page. By entering their Chassis No. details, customers can know the next steps of the recall. In addition to this, customers can also visit their nearest Yamaha service center to know more about the recall. Yamaha Ray ZR & Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid – Brake System Overview

Both the Yamaha Ray RZ 125 Fi Hybrid and the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid comes with a hydraulically operated 190mm front disc. The scooter also comes with a mechanically operated internally expanding brake shoe with a 130mm drum. The rear wheel features a 130mm drum brake and UBS for safety.
