Yamaha R3 and MT-03 price cut – is it a stock clearance?

The recent price cut on the R3 and MT-03 is not a result of a stock clearance sale as the new rates are also applicable on the MY25 models. The price slash of Rs 1.10 lakh has brought the sticker price on the R3 to Rs 3.6 lakh, while the MT-03 is now available at Rs 3.5 lakh ex-showroom. The new prices will be imposed from upcoming February 1 across India.

Mind you, both of the 321cc sibling bikes were launched in India in late 2023. Despite being highly popular among enthusiasts, their absurd pricing made it simply impossible to sell these models. As a result, only a handful of bikes witnessed roads, until now.

Powered by the parallel-twin 321cc, liquid-cooled engine, the R3 and MT-03 offer staggering performance and flawless riding dynamics. The duo is popular for their tuner-friendly nature in the South Asian markets. Moreover, their lightweight makes them easy to use in the city limits.

In India, the Yamaha R3 rivals the Aprilia RS457 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. While the MT-03 rivals the KTM 390 Duke and the Triumph Speed 400.

The price reduction of the Yamaha R3 and MT-03 was much-needed. With the new pricing, both of these bikes now fall into a realistic ballpark, when compared to their rivals. Additionally, Yamaha has already patented the new 2025 R3 in India; indicating a launch soon.
