Yamaha has launched the ‘Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X, a mobile phone application that enables the customers to get the safety and practical benefits and connect with their machine using Bluetooth enabled technology. The brand has announced that in the initial phase it will be rolling out the new connectivity feature only on the Yamaha FZ-S FI Dark Knight BS6 but in the coming phase, the entire series of Yamaha FZ-FI & FZS-FI (150cc) BS6 motorcycles will be able to upgrade to this technology by buying the Bluetooth enabled device as an extra accessory through authorized Yamaha Dealerships & connect to Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X.
The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Application can be downloaded from the Android Play Store or Apple App Store for free. The new App can be enabled and registered in just two simple steps and comes with 6 main features. The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X indicates Distance, Average Speed, Brake Count and Battery Voltage along with storing data such as the last parked location of the bike and helps navigate the rider from their current location to the bike using GPS.
The application can be connected to the motorcycle with the click of a button and offers highlights such as Answer Back – that beeps the motorcycle’s horn and flashes its indicators twice. The rider can also check the Riding History, viewing individual trip details of every ride using the dedicated option. The motorcycle can also be easily located for example in a crowded parking lot by using the Locate My Bike feature through which the bike’s indicators will illuminate for 10 seconds continuously.
In case the motorcycle is parked in a large space the Parking Record feature helps the rider by offering a route map from their current location to where they parked the motorcycle. The application also offers an E-Lock feature through which the rider can set a combination lock using the turn signal directions (<><<) which can be used to unlock the motorcycle using the turn indicator switch. Through the application, the rider can also activate the Hazard feature to alert and caution the other road users when the bike is in distress. When the feature is activated all four indicators start blinking.
The company also announced that the Ex-showroom Price of the Yamaha FZS-FI Dark knight has been revised to INR 1,07,700 ex-showroom Delhi. The Yamaha FZS-FI Dark Knight with the new Bluetooth connectivity feature will be available from 1st November 2020 onward across all Yamaha Dealerships.
