Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will be sold only to those who pass driving test

Technology company Xiaomi recently unveiled its sports sedan the SU7. In addition to this, the brand also revealed the SU7 Ultra Prototype which the brand has revealed that it will enter production soon. Now, new reports suggest that the buyers Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will have to pass a “step-by-step exam to unleash car”. This special driving test will be conducted by the company to ensure the buyers are capable of handing the extremely track-focussed super sedan.

Licence to Drive

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype was unveiled earlier this year and claims to be the fastest four-door electric sedan in the world. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is also set to prove its mettle at the Nurburgring in October 2024. And due to the extremely powerful motor the car has, the customers have to go through the step-by-step exam. However, details of the exam are still under wraps. But we speculate that the exam is most likely to touch points about road safety and control of the vehicle.

Powertrain & Performance

Powering the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype is are three-electric motors that offer a combined output of 1548 PS and can rev upto 27,200 rpm. The motors can also deliver 635 Nm of torque and are paired to an 800kW battery. The 1900 kg super sedan also comes with aerodynamics that can produce more than 2145 kg of downforce and the power unit is capable of accelerating the car from 0-100 kmph in just 1.97 seconds. The SU7 Ultra can also hit the 200 kmph mark from a standstill in just 5.96 seconds. Also, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 350 kmph.

Will it Come to India?

While the SU7 Ultra is the top-spec variant of the four-door super sedan. Other variants include the SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max. The brand also recently showcased the SU7 in Bengaluru India, but currently does not have any plans to retail the super sedan in the Indian market.
