Wuling Cloud EV to be named as MG Windsor EV in India

JSW MG Motor India has officially named its upcoming model, India’s first Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV), as the “MG Windsor.” Drawing inspiration from the iconic Windsor Castle, this new vehicle promises to blend the best of historical grandeur with cutting-edge modern technology. Like the renowned castle, the MG Windsor aims to epitomize luxury, craftsmanship, and a regal presence, offering a premium experience for discerning customers.

A Tribute to Royal Heritage and Modern Luxury

The MG Windsor’s design and concept pay homage to Windsor Castle’s rich history and status as a symbol of royal heritage. The vehicle is meticulously crafted to reflect the same level of excellence and premium quality associated with the castle. With a focus on delivering a luxurious experience, the Windsor is set to offer a blend of classic elegance and advanced technology, catering to those who value both tradition and innovation.

Design and Features

The MG Windsor features a sophisticated, aerodynamic exterior that enhances its futuristic appeal. This intelligent CUV is designed to offer the comfort and style of a sedan with the spaciousness and versatility of an SUV. Its spacious interiors and advanced tech offerings are tailored to meet the needs of modern families, making it an ideal choice for urban commuters and those navigating tighter spaces in smaller towns.

Battery and Range

The  Windsor EV could be offered with two battery pack options:

  • 37.9 kWh battery: Provides a range of approximately 360 km.
  • 50.6 kWh battery: Offers an extended range of around 460 km.

The powertrain features a front-axle mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing 134 horsepower.

Market Position and Expectations

The Windsor EV will be positioned between the Comet EV and ZS EV in the MG portfolio. It will go up against the Tata Nexon.ev and Mahindra XUV 400. The expected price is between INR 18-20 lakh. The Windsor EV could be launched in the upcoming festive season.
