Porsche has launched a new Platinum Edition for its 2022 Panamera, Panamera 4, and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid grand tourers. Porsche has taken this decision to bump up sales for the Panamera as its Taycan outsold all models in October. Another factor for the launch of the Platinum Edition is the global slump in sales for 4-door sedans. Porsche has added exclusive new exterior and interior features by introducing the latest edition for three variants of the Panamera.
The brand will introduce the Platinum Edition Panamera range for the US markets, with Europe and China following closely behind. Porsche will price the base Platinum Panamera at USD 101,900 and the Platinum Panamera 4 at USD 106,000. The top-spec Platinum 4 E-Hybrid Panamera will sport a price tag of USD 115,200, with deliveries scheduled for Spring 2022.
Porsche offers the platinum edition Panamera with exclusive 21-inch ‘Satin Platinum’ finished alloy wheels with 20-inch optional style wheels. Porsche continues the ‘Satin Platinum’ paint scheme on the side air vents, ‘Panamera’ nomenclature, and ‘Porsche’ lettering at the rear. Along with its signature front LED matrix headlamps, the Platinum Edition also gets exclusive rear LED taillights and black exhausts.
Porsche also adds in its Dynamic Lighting System with an updated design and a high-beam assistant for increased visibility. The Platinum Edition gets 13 standard and metallic colour options with no extra charges and four optional special colours. Porsche offers customers an exclusive ‘Custom Color’ offer along with gloss black side window trims to complete the look.
Continuing towards the interior, the Panamera now sports brushed aluminium door sills with “Platinum Edition” lettering and soft-closing doors. All four seats on the Panamera now feature embossed Porsche crests on the headrests and black brushed aluminium trim. Porsche has focussed on driver comfort as the Platinum Edition Panamera gets 14-way adjustable seats with heating and ventilation functionality. Other standard features include four-zone climate control, a Bose Surround Sound system, memory-based front seats, and rear heated seats.
All three variants of the Panamera use a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine except for the 4-E hybrid using an electric motor. The base Panamera and Panamera 4 Platinum produces 330 PS and 450 Nm with a top speed of 268 kph. It achieves 0-100 kph in 5.1 seconds. The Panamera 4-E hybrid Platinum produces 462 PS and 700 Nm with a top speed of 280 kph. The hybrid achieves 0-100 kph in 4.4 seconds.
