Voxan Motors which is a two-wheeler brand from Venturi have developed what they claim as the world’s fastest production electric bike. The bike has been teased by Voxan and aims to cross the 330 kmph mark. It intends to achieve this feat at the Bolivia salt flats and will employ the legendary Moto GO racer and two time World SuperBike champion Max Biaggi.
Venturi has a history of producing electric vehicles and the world’s first sports car powered completely by electricity which was introduced in 2004 – called ‘Fetish’.
The Venturi VBB3 a streamlined racing electric vehicle which set the world speed record at the ‘Global Challenge’ in the year 2009. In 2011 the brand developed the first EV (electric vehicle) designed with the capability to operate in the harsh Antarctic environment. The Venturi Grand Prix Team announced it will be going to the FIA Formula E world championships in December 2013 and Venturi in 2015 became the official manufacturer of the FIA Formula E Championship.
If the world record is achieved, Max Biaggi will become the world’s fastest man on a production electric motorcycle.
The electric powered bike is named Voxan Wattman and the electric bike is powered by a permanent magnet motor with liquid-cooling and the Wattman develops 200 BHP of power and 200 Nm of instant torque and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in a claimed time of 3.4 seconds. The bike has a 12.8 kWh battery which the brand claims to deliver 180 km of range on a single charge and can be recharged to up to 80% in under 30 minutes.
Voxan features an aluminium exoskeleton chassis which integrates the powertrain components. The chassis is supplemented by a new type of parallelogram-shaped four-link suspension. The electric bike will be engineered in Monaco and manufactured in France.
