Volvo XC40 Recharge has received an overwhelming response from the customers. As per Volvo, the SUV got booked for the whole 2022 year within just two hours of its booking opening. The company also mentioned that they have plans to deliver all of these booked 150 units by the end of December 2022. Volvo will start off with the deliveries in October. The company opened bookings for the XC40 Recharge exclusively via its official website. This was further supported by the business partner network handling post-purchase facilitations and deliveries across India.
Volvo mentioned that it will continue to take customer orders for further deliveries. The SUV will have its assembly at the company’s Hoskote plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka. With this, the XC40 Recharge also becomes India’s first locally assembled luxury EV. Volvo has put on a sticker price of INR 55,90,000 ex-showroom for the XC40 Recharge.
Volvo XC40 Recharge – What We Know So Far?
The electric SUV from Volvo is already a successful product in the global market. Key characteristics of the SUV include its scintillating design along with Volvo’s much-revered safety standards. For the Indian market, Volvo is bringing in the dual motor ‘Twin’ variant. Under this, there’s one motor on the front axle and another on the rear. This makes the SUV a permanent all-wheel drive.
The performance figure from the motors reads as 408 HP of power and 660 Nm of torque. With these mechanicals, Volvo claims a 0 to 100 kmph run in just 4.9 seconds. The equipped battery back is a 78 kWh lithium-ion specification. Customers can expect a charging time of around 2.5 hours to go from 0 to 100 per cent with the use of a fast charger. Additionally, the SUV also supports 150 kW fast charging, which takes only 33 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent. As per the WLTP cycle, Volvo claims a mileage of 418 km per single charge.
